Introduction to PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme
Giving information on its social media platform X, the UP government wrote that the ‘PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity’ scheme is being run to provide relief to the common man from electricity bills. The Center and #UPGovt are also providing subsidy to residential consumers for installing 2KW, 3KW, 4KW, 5KW solar rooftop plants.

Step One
- Visit the official website of pmsuryagarh.gov.in
- Click on “Apply for Rooftop Solar” link or the direct link given below.
- Enter mobile number and verify with OTP.
- Select your state and district.
- Select your electricity distribution company.
- Enter your electricity consumer number.
- Enter consumer name.
- Enter email.
- Upload electricity bill and photo of rooftop/other area where solar panels can be installed.
- Then finally enter the captcha code and click on submit button.
Step Two
Enter your cellphone number and customer number to log in.
Fill out the form to apply for rooftop solar.
Step Three
Install the solar panels from any approved supplier in your discom after you have the feasibility approval. Apply for net metering and submit the plant details after the installation is finished.
Step Four
Following the Discom inspection and net meter installation, a commissioning certificate will be generated via the portal. After receiving the commissioning report, use the site to submit the bank account information and a voided check. Within 30 days, your bank account will be credited with your subsidy.
