Uddhav Thackeray: The Shiv Sena (the faction led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde) is allegedly in contact with 13 MLAs from the Uddhav Thackeray group and 20 from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Maharashtra, according to Uday Samant, the state’s minister of industries. Samant also claimed that at Mahabaleshwar, former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and CM Shinde had a private meeting.
Shiv Sena is working to win at least 100 seats
The Shiv Sena (UBT), according to its leader and MLC Ambadas Danve, is working to win at least 100 seats in the Maharashtra Assembly elections in 2024. Danve, the leader of the opposition in the Legislative Council, told PTI that the strategy is to look for candidates who can win while also focusing on the seats where the party finished second in the 2019 Assembly Elections.

Uddhav Thackeray continues to enjoy the support of the Sena
The Shiv Sena, which was not split, partnered with the Bharatiya Janata Party, which won more than 100 seats, to fight the 2019 Assembly elections. Together, the two parties won more than 150 of the House’s 288 seats. But following Eknath Shinde’s uprising, which toppled Uddhav Thackeray’s Maha Vikas Aghadi government, the Sena broke apart in June of last year. Danve asserted that the Eknath Shinde administration is in a precarious position because Uddhav Thackeray continues to enjoy the support of the Sena. The Shiv Sena (UBT) MLC said that if the situation is stable, no ruling party (BJP) will attempt to split other parties, in an apparent reference to rumours about Nationalist Congress Party leader Ajit Pawar and talk of his closeness to the BJP. Eknath Shinde might have to resign as chief minister, according to Danve.
