Prajwal Revanna, Hassan MP and grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, has announced that he will present himself before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on May 31 to address the serious allegations of sexual abuse made against him. In a video message released today, Prajwal assured full cooperation with the ongoing investigation.
Prajwal Revanna’s Statement
In his video statement, Prajwal Revanna expressed his intention to cooperate fully with the SIT. He stated, “I will appear before the SIT on May 31 and will fully cooperate in the investigation.” His commitment comes amid growing scrutiny and media attention surrounding the case.
Background of the Case
Prajwal Revanna is at the centre of a major controversy including charges of sexual assault. On April 27, the day after his constituency’s Lok Sabha election vote took place, the Hassan MP fled India. His exit has sparked a number of inquiries, which has increased media and public curiosity.
Ministry of External Affairs Steps In
Reportedly, Prajwal Revanna’s diplomatic passport is being cancelled by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). This action is being evaluated to make sure he stays within the reach of Indian law enforcement authorities in accordance with the rules of the Passports Act of 1967 and associated regulations.
