Pro-Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh detained by Punjab police, crackdown on supporters underway

Amritpal Singh: Amritpal Singh, the leader of “Waris Punjab De,” is a supporter of the Khalistani movement. Following the detention of Amritpal Singh’s six friends, the police have now detained Amritpal Singh as well. Coupled with this, Internet service has also been suspended in numerous locations due to the severity of the police action against Amritpal Singh.

With the recent unrest outside the Ajnala police station in Amritsar, Amritpal Singh has come under attack from the police. Now acting decisively, the Punjab Police detained six of Amritpal Singh’s friends on Saturday. Nonetheless, Amritpal was able to flee before having to deal with the police action. However Amritpal was later arrested close to Nakodar.

According to media sources, police apprehended two of the convoy’s three vehicles, but Amritpal Singh was able to escape from the third one. He was later hauled into custody, though. Let us inform you that Amritpal, the leader of the pro-Khalistan group “Waris Punjab De,” has been the subject of three charges filed with the Punjab Police, two of which are connected to the Ajnala police station in the Amritsar district and one of which is a case of hate speech.
