Proposal to transfer sanitation workers from MCD to PWD to be discussed in meeting 

The Municipal Corporation for Delhi’s (MCD) house meeting will take place on April 26. In the meeting, a proposal for transferring of sanitation workers to the Public Works Department (PWD) will be made. The MCD has been overseeing services such as cleaning, sweeping, washing of footpaths, and desilting 60 feet and above roads.

MCD asked to comment on the matter

The proposal will be presented in view of a Delhi cabinet decision on April 4 that the 1,449 lm of major roads that come under the PWD will be cleaned by the department, inserted of the MCD. 

“The MCD has been asked to comment in the matter on an urgent basis so the proposal be made before the Delhi cabinet for an appropriate decision,” the proposal said. 

For cleaning the road, it was decided to put 70 mechanical road sweeping machines, 250 water sprinkling machines, and integrated anti-smog guns in 250 wards in work.
