Pune Car Accident: Following a catastrophic accident in Pune, the distraught parents of Anis Awadhiya and Ashwini Kostha, two IT workers, seek justice with new information about the tragedy comes to light. The unfortunate incident happened on a Sunday morning in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar neighbourhood. Anis and Ashwini lost their lives when the 17-year-old driver of a Porsche Taycan collided with a motorbike.
Minor Driver’s Immediate Bail Sparks Outrage
Within hours after the collision, the juvenile court released the youngster on bond, ordering that he work with the Yerwada traffic police for 15 days and submit an essay about the incident. The relatives of the deceased are furious about this quick release and are calling for justice and more stringent measures against the minor driver.
Parents of the Victims Demand Justice
Suresh Kostha, Ashwini Kostha’s father, is devastated at his daughter’s passing. “She was the most loved child in our house,” he said, speaking from his Jabalpur home and expressing his anguish. In January, she had been to Jabalpur to celebrate turning 25. “She told us she was going to meet her friends. We learned about the accident later. I am shocked and extremely upset that the accused was released so easily by the juvenile court. He ought to be punished as an adult since he was intoxicated when driving the car,” he said.
Similar feelings are shared by Anis Awadhiya’s family, who are originally from Umaria in Rajasthan. After Anis’s body was returned to Umaria by his paternal aunt Varsha Awadhiya, she remarked, “We lost Anis, and nothing can bring him back, but the only thing we want is justice. It is not appropriate to spare the accused or his father.”
Unregistered Porsche Car Raises Serious Questions
The fact that the juvenile was driving a Porsche Taycan that had not been registered since March raises the seriousness of the matter, according to recent sources. The boy’s father bought the electric luxury sports car for between Rs 1.61 crore and Rs 2.44 crore in India, but he neglected to pay the regional transport office (RTO) registration costs.
Legal Action Against the Car Owner
After a case was filed against the teenager’s father, he fled but Pune Police arrested him in Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde have demanded strict measures in this case.
