Pune Porsche Accident Case: A senior police official told India Today on Monday that the head of the forensics department at Sassoon Hospital in Pune, where the teen suspect in the fatal Porsche car crash was taken for a check-up, and another hospital doctor had been detained for allegedly tampering with evidence.
Discovery of Tampered Blood Samples
Following the discovery that the minor involved in the accident had had their blood samples replaced with someone who had not drunk alcohol, the arrests were made. On May 19, the day of the accident, at 11 a.m., sources state that the youngster was brought to Sassoon Hospital for a medical examination. Suspicion was aroused when the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report revealed that the initial sample had no alcohol.
Suspicions of Evidence Tampering
Investigators suspected that the doctors at the government hospital had tampered with the evidence to protect the accused juvenile when a second blood result showed alcohol in the minor’s system and DNA tests verified the samples were from two distinct people. The two doctors are presently being questioned by the Pune crime branch for their purported involvement in tampering with the important evidence.
Controversy Surrounding Pune Porsche Crash
Since its inception, the Pune Porsche crash case has been clouded by controversy, including claims of preferential treatment and shady connections involving the accused’s family.
After a public uproar, the child, who was allegedly operating the Porsche while intoxicated, was committed to an observation home until June 5. Initially, bail was granted.
Family Members Detained in Intimidation Probe
In relation to the case, his grandpa, father, and real estate developer Vishal Agrawal have all been detained on suspicion of trying to intimidate and bribe the family’s driver into accepting responsibility for the collision.
Anish Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, two IT workers, were killed after their bike was struck by a speeding Porsche that was allegedly being driven by a 17-year-old teenager. Citing worries about the case’s management, the victims’ relatives have demanded a trial and investigation overseen by the Supreme Court.
