CM Bhagwant Mann: Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, stated on Monday that the CISF female constable, who is accused of striking actor Kangana Ranaut, may have been enraged by the BJP MP-elect’s earlier remarks regarding the farmers’ protest. Mann was also irritated with Kangana for her comments regarding “terrorism”. He did, however, assert that this tragedy was avoidable.
Initial Response to the Incident
It was the Punjab chief minister’s initial response to Kangana’s alleged slapping at the Chandigarh airport last week by CISF women policeman Kulwinder Kaur. Evidently, Kaur didn’t agree with Kangana’s position on the farmers’ protests. On the incident between Kangana Ranaut and CISF constable, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said that “it was anger. Kangana Ranaut had said something earlier and the CISF constable was angry for it. This should not have happened.” Bhagwant Mann said that “despite being a public figure, film star and an elected MP, it is wrong for Kangana to say that the entire Punjab is terrorist.”
Mann’s Criticism of Terrorist Label
CM Mann added, “Even today, Punjab is supplying wheat and rice to the entire country. Punjabis are still protecting the country’s borders. Mann said that if farmers sit on dharna, they are called terrorists or separatists, which is completely wrong.”
Bhagwant Mann has also reacted to getting 3 seats in the Lok Sabha elections in Punjab. Bhagwant Mann has said that “our vote has increased compared to the last election. In 2019, we got only one seat but now we have 3 seats.” Mann further said that “whatever mistake has happened, we will correct it.”
Let us tell you that just a few hours following the incident last week, Kangana Ranaut claimed in a video message that the constable had mistreated her and battered her face when she was going through security at the Chandigarh airport. She was attacked just two days after winning a seat in the Lok Sabha. On a BJP ticket, Kangana Ranaut won the election in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. Kangana has previously stated that farmers in Delhi are demonstrating because they were only paid Rs. 100 or Rs. 200.
