Punjab insurance scheme: Punjab state health agency will organise camps to increase the coverage of the Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana. It will issue e-cards to eligible beneficiaries from May 24.
Agency chief executive officer (CEO) Babita highlighted the significance of the flagship insurance scheme. She said the scheme offers cashless treatment up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year in over 900 hospitals . The scheme offers access to around 1,600 types of treatments, including knee replacements, heart surgeries and cancer treatments, she added.
Beneficiary families fully covered
She said the premium cost for 16.65 lakh beneficiary families is being shared by the central and state governments in 60:40 ratio. The remaining 27.38 lakh beneficiary families are fully covered by the state. As of now, about 79 lakh beneficiaries have received e-cards under this scheme, she said.
The CEO appealed to the public to make use of these camps and obtain their free health treatment cards. She asked beneficiaries to bring their Adhaar cards and proof of family. Other documents needed are family declaration form, ration card, labour card.
The scheme covers farmers, small traders, smart ration card holders, registered workers, SECC Data families, and registered journalists.
Meanwhile, special camp for small traders and registered journalists will be held at the offices of the deputy commissioners and SDMs on May 24 and 25.
Special camps for ration card holder families will also be held at ration depots in Ferozepur district on May 25 and 26.
