Punjab News: According to ANI, which cited SSP Rural Satinder Pal Singh, a large fire that started at a pharmaceutical facility in Amritsar, Punjab, on Thursday night resulted in at least four fatalities.
Fire Erupts in Nag Kalan
The tragedy happened in the village of Nag Kalan in the city. Although the cause of the incident is still under investigation, it is thought that the factory’s abundance of chemicals may have contributed to the flames.
Quick Response by Firefighters Saves Lives in Amritsar Factory Blaze
The plant was actively working, and workers were present inside when the fire started. As soon as they arrived on the site, firefighters were able to put out the fire. Rescue activities are being conducted with ongoing attempts. The fire started about 3:30 pm, according to Amritsar district fire inspector Dilbag Singh. “Blasts also occurred inside the factory as alcohol was stored in the drums. As many as 14 fire tenders were pressed into service and it took around 4 hours to douse the fire. The situation is under control now,” he said.
Two Bodies Found in Amritsar Factory, Identity Unclear
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Amritsar-rural Satinder Singh said, “Majitha station house officer (SHO) has confirmed that two bodies have been recovered from the factory. It appears to be the bodies of the workers who had been working in the factory.” According to the police, the bodies have been moved to a mortuary home for an autopsy. The SSP stated that the remains have not yet been recognised and that police teams are looking into the fire’s origin and the damage it caused.
