The construction work is going good, with major components relating to the terminal building, taxi-way, cargo station, power sub-station, and public health facilities being completed or nearing completion. While there have been few delays concerning the construction of the runway, the Public Works Department has maintained that these key elements are on course.
The beginning of the operation of the airport is likely to be by the end of December when the inner construction of the airbase gets completed by September 30. The District Commissioner Sakshi Sahni has ensured it will get everything done very fast so that it facilitates the launch of the Airport.
