Punjab News: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced on the occasion of Diwali that the state government will hire 1,450 more police officers. Mann stated that 50 inspectors, 150 sub-inspectors, 500 assistant sub inspectors (ASIs), and 750 head constables will be hired out of these 1,450 police officers.

“The motive is to make youth an equal partner in the socio-economic growth of the state,” he said. 37,683 young people were granted government jobs, according to the CM. For the Diwali celebration, licences to sell firecrackers at specific sites have been granted to over 450 sellers in Ranchi. Jaipal Singh Stadium, Harmu Ground, Doranda Ground, Bundu Ground, and the Zila School are among the venues.

Mann also said that although it’s a last resort, authorities may be forced to file a formal complaint against farmers if their unions press them to burn their stubble. The state administration is enforcing stringent regulations to deter stubble burning, and officials who do not comply will face disciplinary punishment.
