Punjab news: Heavy to severe rainfall continues to thrash many areas of Punjab. Due to severe rainfall in the state yesterday, many cities are facing the problem of waterlogging, with some regions experiencing flood-like situations. The NDRF team has been called in Mohali where excessive rainfall has disrupted the entire system. With the deteriorating situation in Punjab due to high rainfall in many parts of the state, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has issued an alert. He has instructed the MLAs and officials to be in active mode and personally assess the situation.
CM Mann expresses concern over incessant rainfall
CM Mann took to Twitter to share his concerns over the ongoing situation caused by heavy rainfall in the state. In a tweet, he said that it has been raining continuously for the last 2 days in Punjab, due to which people in the low-lying areas and especially the areas along the rivers are facing problems.
He further shared that he has instructed all his ministers-MLAs and DCs and SSPs of all districts to visit public areas and take stock of the situation.

Flood Control unit on active mode
Flood control units have been kept in active mode in all the districts of Punjab. They have been installed in all the districts under the supervision of DC. The CM has instructed that waterlogging should be helped by removing the excess water through a pump. Apart from this, administrative teams have also been put on alert mode. Cabinet Minister Dr. Balbir Singh and Patiala DC Sakshi Sahni visited the small river and assured the people that every necessary step would be taken by the administration.
