Punjab News: The Bhagwant Mann administration in Punjab is working to keep the pledges it made to temporary teachers during the assembly elections. He recently declared that 12,710 of these temporary teachers will become permanent. The Bhagwant Mann government completed the task that no government had been able to do over the past few years in just one year, according to a tweet from the Aam Aadmi Party following his statement. The Punjab AAP unit asserted that their party had delivered on its promise to have teachers in place for the elections in Punjab. In reality, Punjab Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had promised that all teachers who are now employed on an outsourced or contract basis will be verified as soon as the Punjab government is formed. AAP has regularised 12,710 temporary instructors who have been working in Punjabi schools for 10 to 15 years based on the same pledges. The Hon’ble Government’s choice represents nothing less than a generous gift for the teachers who have been waiting for years to receive assurances of employment.
Impact on Teachers and Benefits Offered
The government’s move has resulted in a two- to four-fold rise in the pay for teachers who were given permanent positions. In addition, their salary will now be increased by 5% annually. As normal employees, they will now receive a number of benefits. Teachers who are female will now be compensated for maternity leave and other holidays. During a programme in Chandigarh on Friday, CM Bhagwant Mann gave appointment letters to the teachers who were offered permanent positions. The AAP government, according to CM Mann, has allayed the teachers’ concerns about the future. Now it is up to you to decide how Punjab will develop. He has urged the teachers to report to work wherever their duties are located.
