Punjab News: The Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) has set up a round-the-clock assistance center at its headquarters to support entrepreneurs. Environment and Science Technology Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer stated that this service desk will provide guidance to the industrial sector on their responsibilities in managing pollution and obtaining necessary regulatory approvals.
New 24X7 Helpdesk launched
The head office in Patiala will have two assistant environmental engineers (AEEs) stationed at the helpdesk, and the board has introduced a helpline number (9914498899). Minister Hayer mentioned that the Chief Minister had requested public input for industry promotion, and in response to these suggestions, the PPCB has inaugurated a 24X7 operational helpdesk at Vatavaran Bhawan, Patiala, to provide guidance to entrepreneurs.
He said, “This helpdesk will guide the industries regarding obligation towards control of pollution and regulatory clearances. Two officers of the rank of Assistant Environmental Engineer (AEE) shall be available at the helpdesk at head office, Patiala.”
Govt aims to establish direct communication
The minister further informed that the state government had recently arranged the “Sarkar Sanatkar Milni” event, aiming to establish direct communication with industry leaders, comprehend their requirements, and taking appropriate actions in response.
