Punjab News: Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, stated that he will address all state-related matters during the 31st Northern Zonal Council (NZC) meeting in Amritsar, which commences on Tuesday. The meeting will be chaired by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The 31st Northern Zonal Council (NZC) meeting, hosted by Punjab, will be chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The NZC comprises the states of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh, along with the Union Territories of Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Chandigarh.

During this council meeting, various topics will be discussed, including issues related to the Bhakra-Beas Management Board, affiliation with Panjab University, road construction projects under PMGSY, canal initiatives, water sharing concerns, matters concerning the reorganisation of states, and the development of infrastructure.
According to official sources, some of the key issues to be addressed during the meeting with the Union Home Minister include the land allotment process to Haryana for establishing an additional building for its state assembly in Chandigarh. Additionally, concerns regarding Rajasthan’s receipt of its full water capacity from the Rajasthan feeder during recent floods will also be discussed.

Prior to the meeting, rigorous security measures have been put in place in Amritsar, as confirmed by officials. The Chief Minister emphasized that brainstorming sessions will be conducted to address various matters concerning these states during the meeting. Mann stressed the importance of ensuring the event’s success by extending a warm welcome to the dignitaries.
In the meantime, the opposition Shiromani Akali Dal has urged Chief Minister Mann to take a resolute stance on critical Punjab-related matters, including the state’s rightful claim over Chandigarh, during the NZC meeting.
