Punjab News: With the arrest of three persons, Punjab Police claimed on Sunday to have broken up an interstate network of guns smugglers, according to officials. According to them, the group was engaged in the smuggling of weapons into Punjab from Madhya Pradesh.
Punjab Police’s Successful Operation in Amritsar
Director-General of Police Gaurav Yadav said that eleven handguns, fifteen cartridges, and two lakh rupees in cash were taken from them by the counterintelligence unit in Amritsar. “Acting swiftly on a secret information CI (counter-intelligence) #Amritsar has busted an Interstate Arms smuggling gang and apprehended 3 persons. They were smuggling arms from Madhya Pradesh and supplying in Punjab,” said Yadav in a post on X.
Efforts to Bust Interstate Arms Smuggling Network in Punjab
“FIR under Arms & Money Laundering Act registered at SSOC Amritsar Recovered: 11 Pistols, 15 live cartridges, ?2 lac,” Tweet added. The DGP Further said, “Police teams are putting all efforts to unearth the whole network, identify the complete procurement and supply chain across to bust the network.”
