Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Mann is set to meet Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on April 30 in Tihar prison as per media reports. This comes amid the AAP’s ongoing accusations against the BJP of plotting against their party convenor.
Second Meeting in Tihar Jail
Arvind Kejriwal, who has been held in Tihar prison in connection with a money-laundering case related to excise policies, will meet Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for the second time. On March 21, Kejriwal was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate.
Allegations of Poor Treatment
Bhagwant Mann had voiced worries about Kejriwal’s treatment in jail, saying it was distressing to see him denied privileges that are even granted to severe offenders. Mann questioned Kejriwal’s treatment in the scenario, pointing out that his supposed misdeeds included projects like constructing schools and hospitals and giving the general population free power.
AAP’s Support and Political Stand
Mann affirmed AAP’s support for Kejriwal and the party’s commitment to become a powerful political force in the ongoing elections. The AAP had earlier charged that the authorities was denying Kejriwal fundamental liberties and mistreating with him in jail.
