All communities must be treated equally: Bhagwant Mann during Eid celebration

CM Bhagwant Mann

CM Bhagwant Mann said on Saturday on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, ‘There is Ram in Ramzan and Ali in Diwali, our festivals cannot be separated.’

On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr in Jalandhar, the CM called upon the Muslim community to offer Eid prayers at the main dargah Idgah amidst a huge crowd. In a speech stressing on the unity of religions, the CM said that all communities should be treated equally. The CM said that hatred is being spread in the country and it is necessary that brotherhood prevails. Mann also said that seeds of hatred cannot be sown in Punjab as people here do not vote according to religion. Jalandhar bypoll candidate Sushil Rinku was also accompanying the CM.

The CM hugged the community members and took the sweets offered by them. Notably, Mann also called the bishop’s house earlier this month to mark Easter.

CM said that Eid is a festival of forgetting mutual bitterness and hugging each other.

Addressing the gathering, Maan said, ‘Festivals have been divided by some selfish people. They divided them for their own vested interests. But the festivals are so closely related that the brotherhood cannot be broken.”
