In view of heavy rains, the Punjab government has taken a big decision in the interest of school children. The Bhagwant Mann government of Punjab has closed all the schools for the next 3 days.
Punjab govt decides to close school till this date
Announcing this, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that in view of the heavy rains and the resulting flood situation, all schools have been directed to be closed. All private and government schools will remain closed for the next 3 days.
At the same time, the situation in Punjab has worsened due to heavy rains. This has also created flood situation. This has started worrying people. Patiala District Magistrate Sakshi Sahni has ordered the evacuation of the area (downstream) along the Badi river in view of the threat of floods.
People have been instructed to evacuate the area before the flood recedes. So that nothing untoward happens. To deal with the floods, the Bhagwant Mann government has set up flood control rooms in all the districts. Along with this, helpline numbers have also been issued. Due to rain, the water level of the river is likely to flow above the danger mark.
The Punjab government is on high alert regarding the rains. Chief Minister Mann has asked all the MLAs and officials to be alert during this period. So that any emergency can be dealt with.
Due to the rise in the water level due to rain, water has entered in many areas. Minister Harjot Singh Bains had said that the situation in my Anandpur Sahib constituency is deteriorating due to non-stop heavy rains. The ravines are overflowing and the ponds of many villages have also overflowed.
