Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann Lead High-Energy Rally for AAP in Chhattisgarh, gear up for Assembly elections

Punjab

Punjab: Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi and the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party, will travel to Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, on March 5 to further AAP preparations for the State’s upcoming Assembly elections.

AAP made its maiden attempt at electoral success

Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, will accompany Mr. Kejriwal when the two speak at a party workers’ convention in Raipur. In the 2018 Chhattisgarh Assembly elections, the AAP made its maiden attempt at electoral success by fielding candidates in 85 of the 90 seats. But, a resounding victory in Punjab last year boosted its aspirations for the entire country.

AAP also declared it would run for all 230 seats in MP

In Gujarat, where the Bharatiya Janata Party won a record 156 seats, the party ran a loud campaign but only won in five constituencies, gaining roughly 13% of the vote. AAP also declared on Saturday that it would run for all 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh, which will also hold elections at the end of this year. Gopal Rai, a Delhi minister and the party’s State Election In-charge, told reporters here that the top leadership of the AAP’s visit and their engagement with party members will further strengthen the preparations for the Chhattisgarh assembly elections.

BJP and Congress were an attempt to win over voters

Around 3 p.m. on Sunday, he said, the two leaders will speak to the party workers’ convention in Jora Ground in front of the Agricultural University. Mr. Rai charged that the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party, in power since the State’s separation from Madhya Pradesh in 2000, had done little for ordinary folks. He asserted that the current Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress administration has absolutely failed in maintaining peace and order. Mr. Rai sought to know why Chhattisgarh had failed to record such accomplishments in so many years after highlighting a number of projects of the Kejriwal government in New Delhi in only a few years of its tenure. He claimed that the populist statements and misleading promises made by the BJP and Congress were an attempt to win over voters.
