Ashirwad Scheme: The Punjab government has approved Rs 3.44 crore for districts Bathinda, Mansa, and Nawanshahr under its Ashirwad scheme, aimed at supporting individuals from backward classes and economically weaker sections. Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities Minister Baljit Kaur announced that this funding will benefit 675 beneficiaries.

Punjab Government Allocates Rs 3.44 Crore for Ashirwad Scheme Beneficiaries

The allocation addresses pending applications from the 2023-24 financial year and includes those who registered on the Ashirwad portal for the 2024-25 period. Under the scheme, 33 beneficiaries in Bathinda, 46 in Mansa, and 196 in Nawanshahr have been approved.

To qualify for the Ashirwad scheme, applicants must be permanent residents of Punjab, belong to scheduled castes, backward classes, or economically weaker families, and have an annual family income below Rs 32,790.
