Now the game of sand mafia will end in Punjab. People will get sand from government mines at cheap rates. For this, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has taken a big step. He has dedicated 16 public mines to the people. People will get sand from these mines at the rate of Rs.5.50 per cubic feet. He himself informed about it.
CM Mann said that we do not just announce, we show by doing. He tweeted and said, ‘Another big step in favor of Punjabis. Now people will get sand from government quarries at the rate of Rs 5.50 per feet. This work has started at 16 places including Ludhiana from today, which will soon increase to 50. People can bring their tractor trolley and take sand from here. We don’t just announce, we show by doing.’

The Chief Minister said that before forming the government, we had said that we will end the sand mafia. He said that what he promises, he fulfills it. During this, he said that JCB or tipper mafia will not run on the mines which are being made online. People should bring their own tractor trolleys and carry sand at the rate of Rs 5.50 per feet. Mafia will not be allowed to occupy these mines.
Now sand mafia will not exploit people
CM Mann said that the operation of the mines will be done through a completely transparent process as CCTV cameras have been installed to keep a watch on them for 24 hours. Apart from this, police patrolling will be ensured to keep vigil on these public places. These mines will be operational from 6 AM to 7 PM from 1 April to 30 September and from 7 AM to 5 PM from 1 October to 31 March. Mann said that the sand mafia which flourished during the previous government will no longer exploit the people.
