CM Announces Resumption of Domestic Flights from Adampur Airport for Enhanced Connectivity and Economic Growth

Punjab’s Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, announced on Monday that domestic flights will soon resume from Adampur airport in Jalandhar. The CM chaired a meeting of the civil aviation department at the Punjab civil secretariat-I, where he confirmed that the necessary approvals have been granted for the restart of domestic flights from Adampur airport. This decision aims to facilitate a strong connection between non-resident Indians (NRIs) and their homeland.

Apart from saving time, money, and effort for NRIs and various sections of society, the reopening of Adampur airport is expected to stimulate economic activity in the region. The CM also stressed the need for swift completion of construction work on the Halwara civil air terminal, revealing that the state government has already allocated ₹50 crore for this purpose.

During the meeting, the CM reviewed the progress at Adampur, Halwara, Bathinda, and Pathankot airports. He emphasized that the initiation of flights from these airports would establish direct air connectivity for the people of Punjab with the rest of the world. This development aligns with the broader goal of improving transportation options and enhancing the state’s overall connectivity.
