CM Mann unveils ‘Vision Document 2047’, here’s details

Releasing the State Government’s ‘Vision Document’ for the year 2047, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann termed it as the blueprint for a progressive and prosperous Punjab. The Chief Minister pointed out the urgent need to revive the financial condition of the State. Said that this document expresses hope for all-round development of the state on completion of 100 years of the country’s independence.

‘Vision Document 2047’ to rejuvenate state’s economy

He said that this document consists of nine departmental sections and 16 socio-economic indicator-based sub-sections, in which the present situation, the main challenges before the state and short and long term strategies have been made to overcome them. Mann said that according to the documents, the growth rate of the economy will be achieved at 7.5 percent annually by the year 2030 and 10 percent by 2047.

The Chief Minister said that the objective of this document is to bring the investment-GSDP ratio up to 25 percent by the year 2030 and 32 percent by the year-2047. He said that information technology based services (ITES) including service sector such as BPO, online education, internet media and entertainment will be developed and the use of digital technology in the service sector will also be encouraged.

Bhagwant Mann said that employment would be created by creating synergy between industries and educational institutionsThe Chief Minister said that the main sectors include economy, finance, industry, employment, agriculture, rural development, infrastructure, mass and equitable education, health infrastructure and management, achieving gender equality, natural resources.
