As a result of the efforts of Punjab Revenue Minister and Hoshiarpur MLA Bram Sankar Zimpa, there are possibilities of starting the work on the Jalandhar-Hoshiarpur-Chintpurni road from April 1.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has sanctioned Rs 13.74 crore for the road. Tenders have also been floated for the construction of the road. During the press conference at Punjab Bhawan, Zimpa told that the residents of Doaba, especially Hoshiarpur, were very sad due to the condition of this road being very bad. Many lives have been lost due to everyday accidents. But, earlier governments did not pay any attention to this.
Instead of building roads, people were left with the help of God. This road is very important. Because from this road devotees go to visit very important religious places like Mata Chintpurni, Jwala ji, Kangra Devi, Chamunda ji, Baglamukhi and Baba Balak Nath. Jimpa said that lakhs of people pass through Hoshiarpur to go to Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj, the famous tourist cities of northern India. Therefore, keeping in view the importance of this road, special attention has been paid towards its development. Thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO for sanctioning the money for road construction. He informed that tenders have been floated for the construction of this 39 kilometer long road. Work is likely to start from April 1.
About 14 km stretch of the road is in Jalandhar district and 25 km stretch is in Hoshiarpur district. Jimpa was making a lot of efforts for the construction of this road. Have also held meetings with fellow ministers of the Punjab cabinet including several central ministers. Now, as a result of their efforts, this road will be ready soon.
