Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. has said that the construction of Halwara International Airport is likely to be completed by July-2023.
Tenders for all the construction works have already been allotted by the Public Works Department (PWD). He also inspected the construction work of International Airport being constructed at Halwara. He was accompanied by Raikot MLA Hakam Singh Contractor, Deputy Commissioner Surbhi Malik, SSP Navneet Singh Bains.
On this occasion, in the public meeting, Minister ETO said that civil works worth Rs 46.91 crore have been started. In this, construction of internal roads, taxi-way, apron, public health services, lighting of airport premises, construction of terminal building, sub-station, toilet block, parking are also under construction.
Describing the Halwara airport as an ambitious project, the cabinet minister said that every possible effort is being made to start flights as soon as possible after the completion of this project. This will pave the way for the overall development of the region.
