Fazilka tornado left 12 injured, 30 houses damaged

At least 12 people were injured and 30 houses were damaged after the tornado struck Bakenwala village in Punjab’s Fazilka district. Officials gave this information. He told that the standing crops in the fields and tangerine gardens have also been damaged by the tornado.

Gurmukh Singh, a resident of Bakenwala, said, “Villagers saw the outbreak of the tornad.” He said that it has damaged an area of ​​two-and-a-half kilometers.

Announcement of compensation of five lakh rupees

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal announced a compensation of Rs five lakh from his MPLAD (Member of Parliament Local Area Development Fund) fund for the repair of houses damaged by the tornado. The party said in a statement that Badal visited Bakenwala village and other places to assess the damage.

The SAD leader demanded compensation for all those whose houses and tangerine plantations were destroyed and said that if this was not done, his party would launch an agitation to get justice for the affected farmers.

He also spoke to the Fazilka Deputy Commissioner and offered to release more money from his MPLAD fund if required. Badal lashed out at Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for not visiting the affected area and not releasing compensation to the tornado victims immediately.

The process of assessing the damage has also started

He spoke to farmers in Dabwali Dhab, Karamgarh, Bhagwanpura, Shamkheda and Gurusar Jodha villages. Deputy Commissioner Seenu Duggal, who visited the affected village, said that the villagers whose houses were damaged have been sent to the local government school by the administration.

Duggal said, “The administration will also start the process of assessing the damage caused to property and crops, after which the government will give compensation.”

A video of the tornado causing havoc is being circulated on social media. Those injured in the tornado have been admitted to the Civil Hospital in Fazilka.
