People bid enthusiastically at the bus stand. With this, the department will get a revenue of more than Rs 3.22 crore during six months. Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said that parking, washroom, advertisement and station fees have been bid for 6 months in the bus stand. With this, the transport department will get more revenue than last year. He told that after the bidding, Punjab Roadways, Punbus would earn Rs. Similarly, the bid for parking was increased by Rs 70 thousand as compared to earlier, on contract of Rs 7.20 lakh per month. With this the department will get Rs 43 lakh 20 thousand in six months.
The Transport Minister said that the washrooms of the airport will double the profit of the department during the auction. The washroom was taken by the bidder at twice the rate as compared to last year’s Rs 2.01 lakh per month and this time the bid has been raised for Rs 3.95 lakh per month. 23 lakh 70 thousand rupees will be benefited from this in six months.

Ed’s contract has been done at the rate of Rs 3.05 lakh per month. There are 43 places of 13327 square feet, from where 18 lakh 30 thousand rupees will be available. Shops and SCF which have been closed for the last several years have also been bid. The bid for two shops was quoted at Rs 42,750 each per month. With this the department will get Rs 5 lakh 13 thousand in six months. Similarly, three SCFs have been given on rent for Rs 5,000 each per month. From these the department will get 90 thousand rupees. The minister instructed to get the remaining shops re-bid.
