Panjab University is set to introduce a short-term artificial intelligence (AI) program, facilitated by the university’s Innovative Council, an initiative of the Ministry of Education. This collaborative effort involves the Northern Region S&T Cluster (PI-RAHI) and the Design Innovation Centre of the university.
Scheduled from January 15 to January 17, the program is designed with eight sessions, strategically categorized into four segments to ensure comprehensive coverage. The segments include:
- Awareness and Foundation Level: Providing insights into introductions and AI project cycles.
- Programming Fundamentals: Covering Python basics, functions, and AI packages.
- Implementation Phase: Allowing participants to apply AI models to solve industry-specific problems.
Each day’s sessions will be conducted from 11 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm, and there is a nominal fee of Rs 1,000 for participation. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be awarded certificates as a testament to their acquired skills.
The PU-IIT Ropar Regional Accelerator for Holistic Innovation (PI-RAHI) Foundation, Science & Technology Cluster for the Northern Region, has a track record of organizing insightful AI sessions. Notably, on January 3, a seminar titled “AI for forensics: Generalizable and safe deep models for fingerprint preprocessing” was successfully conducted, reflecting the commitment to advancing AI knowledge.
