Punjab Budget: The state government intends to purchase 1,600 acres more in Mohali for the development of residential, commercial, and industrial plots following the successful auction of 47 properties that increased the wealth of the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) by a record $1,935.8 crore.

During his budget statement on Friday, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema disclosed the intention to purchase additional land near Mohali. “Industrial, residential, and commercial clusters will be constructed,” stated Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh. According to a GMADA representative, Eco City-2 and -3 in Mullanpur as well as Aerotropolis Phase 2 would be expanded with a focus.

Mohali’s Plans for Modernization and Economic Growth
Cheema stated in his address that the Punjab State Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, which is being built in Mohali, will receive 25 crore and open for business in the fiscal year 2023–2024. Also, the government provided funding for the establishment of a 50-bed integrated AYUSH hospital in Dayalpur Sodhian, close to Mohali.
