Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the state government of Punjab initiated the establishment of Aam Aadmi Clinics with the aim of transforming the region into a healthier and disease-free state. As the first year of this initiative comes to a close, Dr. Balbir Singh, the Health and Family Welfare Minister, revealed some impressive statistics. Over 44 lakh patients have benefited from these clinics, and within less than a year, over 20 lakh patients have availed free tests.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann inaugurated 75 Aam Aadmi Clinics on the occasion of the 75th Independence Day last year. This number has now expanded to 583 clinics throughout the state. Among these, 180 clinics are situated in urban areas, while the remaining 403 are located in rural regions.

Dr. Balbir Singh expressed his satisfaction with the positive feedback and response received from the people of the state regarding the quality healthcare services provided through these clinics. Building on the success of the Aam Aadmi Clinics, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is set to dedicate an additional 76 clinics to the public on August 14, 2023, to commemorate the 76th Independence Day. This step will increase the total count of operational Aam Aadmi Clinics to 659.
The press conference held at Punjab Bhawan also highlighted the services available at these clinics. Patients have access to 80 different types of medicines and 38 diagnostic tests, all provided free of cost. Notably, during the past year, more than 20 lakh free tests and medicines, equivalent to around Rs 30.25 crore, have been administered to patients through these clinics.
