Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Presents 1 Crore Rupees and Job Assistance to Families of Soldiers Martyred in Ladakh Road Accident

Paying heartfelt tributes to the courage and sacrifice of two soldiers hailing from Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann extended his condolences by visiting their bereaved families. Naib Subedar Ramesh Lal and gunner Tarandeep Singh, who tragically lost their lives in a road accident in Ladakh on August 19, were honored with financial aid of Rs 1 crore each during the visit. The soldiers were among the nine who met their untimely demise when their vehicle met with an accident, plummeting into a deep gorge in Leh district of Ladakh.

“Two sons from Punjab — Ramesh Lal of Sarsiri village in Faridkot and Tarandeep Singh from Bassi Pathana — also attained martyrdom,” he said.

Commending the unwavering dedication of these valiant heroes in safeguarding the nation’s unity and integrity, Chief Minister Mann expressed deep sorrow over the irreplaceable loss suffered by both the nation and the grieving families.

In a gesture of gratitude and recognition, Chief Minister Mann handed over the substantial cheques, acknowledging the immense debt owed by the entire country to these soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their fellow citizens.

Adding to the support, the Chief Minister announced compassionate job opportunities for the families of the deceased soldiers. A promise was made to provide a job for Tarandeep Singh’s sister, along with the commitment to construct a modern stadium named in his honor, complete with cutting-edge amenities including a synthetic track.

Similarly, at the ‘antim ardass’ ceremony of Tarandeep Singh, the Chief Minister pledged a job for Ramesh Lal’s wife. The Chief Minister’s visit to Sarsiri village in Faridkot also marked the announcement of transforming the local dispensary, renaming the Panjgrain to Nangal road after the fallen soldier, and the construction of a stadium in the village.

This gesture by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann not only underscores the state’s deep gratitude towards its brave soldiers but also exhibits a profound commitment to supporting their families during these difficult times.
