Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced the successful conclusion of the second season of “Khedan Watan Punjab Dian,” the state’s largest sporting event. Over 4.5 lakh participants engaged in 35 competitions across eight age groups, marking a significant expansion from the previous season. Mann highlighted the introduction of sports such as Rugby, Cycling, Horse Riding, Wushu, and Shooting Volleyball.

Digital Transfer of Cash Awards

A total of Rs 8.30 crore in cash awards were digitally transferred to the bank accounts of approximately 11,000 players who secured Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals at the state level. The Chief Minister extended congratulations to all the participants and expressed hope that they would continue to bring accolades to Punjab at national and international sporting competitions.

Diverse Age Groups and Cash Prizes

Competitions were organized in age groups ranging from under 14 to above 65 years. Cash prizes included Rs 10,000 for gold medalists, Rs 7,000 for silver, and Rs 5,000 for bronze. Bhagwant Singh Mann emphasized that these games serve as a crucial platform for athletes to showcase their talent and aid the government in identifying strengths and weaknesses for future grooming in national and international events.
