Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann criticized State BJP President Sunil Jakhar for spreading misinformation regarding the rejection of Punjab’s tableau by the BJP-led Union government on Republic Day. Mann accused Jakhar of trying to defend the Union government’s decision with baseless claims.
In a statement, Mann emphasized that the rejection was due to the Modi government’s alleged anti-Punjab stance, a position consistently upheld by the state government. He denounced Jakhar’s attempt to justify the move with false assertions about pictures in the tableau.
Mann highlighted that the Ministry of Defence clarified that there were no pictures in the tableau, exposing Jakhar’s misleading statements. The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government’s tableaus aimed to showcase Punjab’s rich cultural heritage and traditions, emphasizing sacrifice and martyrdom during the Republic Day Parade.
