Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday handed job letters to junior engineers and clerks in the departments of water supply and sanitation and cooperation, continuing his initiative to empower young people by providing them with government jobs. This increased the number of beneficiaries who have received jobs to 26,478, up to this point.
Before handing the letters to the young people here at the Municipal Bhawan, the chief minister addressed them, noting that this site has seen a number of similar occasions where young people have been hired by government department. He said that since taking office, his government has given employment offers to 26,478 young people in various departments.
According to Bhagwant Mann, the state government’s commitment to ensuring the wellbeing of young and providing them with new work opportunities is reflected by the remarkable number of jobs created in just 11 months.
Mann expressed his gratitude to the newly hired youngsters and noted that it is a source of great pleasure and happiness that every young person was chosen for these positions solely on the basis of merit. He said that now that they were an essential element of the government, the youth should serve them with the zeal of a missionary.
