He prayed for the wounded troops’ quick recovery and conveyed his sincere condolences to the grieving family. “We salute the valour and spirit of our brave soldiers who stand as a shield for the country,” Mann stated.
Details of the Terrorist Attack
The terrorists targeted an operating base of the army, resulting in a fierce encounter. The two terrorists, who had opened fire in a village in Kathua, were neutralized after a prolonged gunfight. One terrorist was killed last night, and the second, armed with a US-made M4 carbine assault rifle, was eliminated the following morning in a forested region.
Encounters and Casualties
Two separate encounters that began overnight continued into the morning, leading to significant casualties. In Doda, five soldiers and a special police officer (SPO) were injured during an attack on an army post. The series of attacks have highlighted the ongoing threats in the region and the relentless efforts of security forces to maintain peace and security.
Recent Surge in Terrorist Activities
Only a few days have passed since another horrific event in Jammu, when a bus full of pilgrims was attacked in Reasi. Nine people lost their lives as the bus went out into a canyon. Concerns over security and the safety of citizens in the area have been raised by the recent spike in terrorist activity.
