Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann to Introduce ‘NRI Milni’ Program to Tackle NRI Issues

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has taken a proactive step to address the concerns of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) through “NRI Milni” program. This initiative aims to create a platform for resolving various issues faced by NRIs, including disputes related to land, family/marriage, and other matters.

NRI Milni Inauguration in Chamroor Village

Chaired by the Minister of NRI Affairs, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, the inaugural meeting of the “NRI Milni” program is scheduled to be held in Chamroor village near Pathankot. The choice of location is strategic, as CM Mann expressed in a social media post, “Commencing today, we are launching ‘NRI Meetings’ for Punjabi expatriates in Punjab… where issues and complaints related to NRIs will be addressed… The first ‘NRI Meeting’ will be held in Chamroor village, Pathankot (Mini Goa). It is organized here so that NRIs residing outside can witness the vibrant colors of Punjab.”

Addressing a Spectrum of NRI Issues

The “NRI Milni” program is envisioned as a comprehensive platform to address a spectrum of issues faced by NRIs. By providing a dedicated space for dialogue and conflict resolution, the initiative aims to strengthen the ties between the Punjabi expatriate community and their home state.

Fostering Vibrant Connections with Punjab

CM Mann’s emphasis on organizing the first meeting in Chamroor village, known as “Mini Goa,” reflects an intention to showcase the vibrant culture and colors of Punjab to NRIs. This not only serves as a platform for issue resolution but also as an opportunity for Punjabi expatriates to reconnect with their roots.
