The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is fully committed to provide all possible help to the people who have been devastated by the natural calamity like floods in the state.
As part of this, the government is in the process of distributing 40,000 food packets, of which 23600 have already been distributed.
Help People In This Hour Of Natural Calamity: Lal Chand Kataruchak
Disclosing this on the occasion of flagging off 3 vehicles of food packets for flood victims at Verka Milk Plant, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak said that the work of packaging and preparation of food packets in milk plants being done. Located in Mohali, Ludhiana, Patiala, Jalandhar and Amritsar.
Giving more details, he said that the Punjab government is helping the distressed people in different ways. Some departments are doing rescue work and some are extending their helping hand in some other way. Similarly, the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs has been entrusted with the duty of preparing food packets to provide immediate relief. Each packet contains bread, cashew pinni, biscuit packet, milk pack, water bottles, candles, matchbox, disposable cups and spoons.
The minister said that every paisa loss caused to the public would be compensated by the government as compensation and added that the state government would stand by the people in this hour of need.
Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Ghanshyam Thori, GM Verka Milk Plant Raj Kumar were also present on the occasion, among others.
