Punjab Drugs Case: STF to raid six states, lookout notice for Rajjit Singh issued

In Punjab, the police is about to crack down on the sacked AIG Rajjit Singh Hundal in the drugs racket case. 14 teams of Special Task Force have been formed to search for Rajjit Singh Hundal. These teams are going to conduct raids in six states regarding the arrest of Hundal. A joint meeting of STF and Intelligence Wing officials took place on Wednesday, in which it was decided to form 14 teams for the arrest of Rajjit Singh Hundal.

ADGP RK Jaiswal is investigating the matter

At the same time, on the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, DGP Gaurav Yadav has handed over the investigation of drug racket case of Rajjit Singh Hundal to ADGP Intelligence RK Jaiswal. Raids are also being conducted at the places close to Rajjit in Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi, Himachal. Teams have also been sent to Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday night. ADGP RK Jaiswal has been instructed by DGP Gaurav Yadav to complete the investigation of the drugs racket case within 30 days. Under the leadership of ADGP Jaiswal, continuous raids are being conducted at many places including Mohali, Jalandhar, Ludhiana. It is being told that two close friends of Rajjit have also been taken into custody who are being interrogated.

Rajjit Singh’s proximity to drug smugglers

Rajjit Singh is accused of conniving with drug smugglers during his stay as SSP in Tarn Taran. Rajjit Singh has also been SSP of Hoshiarpur and Moga. For the first time in Punjab, a senior officer was dismissed on drug charges. Rajjit Singh’s name came up in a report in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The SIT constituted in the 2017 drug smuggling case had completed the investigation within the scope of the 4 parameters mentioned by Justice Suryakant. In which the name of Rajjit Singh was also included.
