Punjab extended holidays till January 14 for students of first to seventh class

Keeping in view the safety of children in the cold and fog, orders have been issued for winter vacations till January 14 in all government, government aided and unaided private schools in Chandigarh. According to the order, schools for children from primary to 8th standard will open on January 16. According to the order, the education department has declared holidays till January 14, but due to Sunday holiday on January 15, schools will open on January 16. Schools will open from January 9 for the children of classes IX to XII. School timings will be from 9 am.

Director School Education has issued instructions to the principals and hands of all the schools. There were 13 days of holidays in government schools from 26 December to 7 January, now the holidays of middle classes have been extended. Private schools had to open schools according to their calendar, but now the education department has issued common instructions for all.

Delhi in grip of cold wave too

There has been freezing cold in Delhi for a few days, in view of which there is now a demand to extend the holidays of private schools. In fact, Brijesh Goyal, chairman of the Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI), has written a letter to Delhi’s Deputy CM and Education Minister Manish Sisodia regarding this matter. In the letter, he has appealed to the Deputy CM to extend the winter vacation in private schools till January 15, just like government schools, in view of the increasing cold in Delhi for the past few days. Winter vacations were announced till January 15 in government schools of Delhi and till January 8 in private schools.

He further wrote in his letter that due to severe cold and fog in Delhi, along with the children, the drivers of buses, cabs and vehicles are also facing inconvenience. He also wrote here to extend the school vacation that he is getting calls from parents of children in large numbers. In such a situation, considering the problems faced by the children and their families, the government should decide to extend the holidays of private schools as well.
