The Punjab government, led by Bhagwant Mann, is putting up great effort to improve the state and lessen the number of times residents must attend government offices to obtain necessities. The Department of Governance Reforms (DGR) Patwaris has been linked into the e-governance system by the Mann administration as a key step towards streamlining Government to Citizen (G2C) services. Aman Arora, the Minister of Administrative Reforms and Grievances, issued this announcement.

Patwaris Join E-Governance: A Game Changer for Verification Services

By including Patwaris in the e-governance system, Punjab’s residents will now enjoy the convenience of accessing most verification services from their homes. This new system allows citizens to apply online for various certificates, including caste, residence, old age pension scheme, and income certificates, without stepping out of their homes. Minister Aman Arora, in a press release, mentioned that all Patwaris have been provided with login IDs to facilitate online verification.

No More Office Visits for Verification

Minister Arora emphasised that with Patwaris integrated into the online system, applicants no longer need to visit offices for verification stamps and signatures. After submitting an application, if verification is required, the concerned office will forward the request online to the designated Patwari. This streamlined process is designed to ease the burden on applicants and eliminate unnecessary paperwork.

Enhancing Efficiency and Reducing Paperwork

The introduction of this online verification system is a significant step towards enhancing efficiency in government services. It not only reduces the workload for applicants but also minimizes the reliance on physical documentation. Minister Aman Arora highlighted that this initiative aims to make G2C services more accessible and convenient for the people of Punjab.
