Punjab govt to reward those who help victims of road accident

The Punjab government is going to implement a new scheme to save lives in road accidents. Under which save the life of a person injured in a road accident and get a reward of Rs 5000. This decision was taken at Punjab Bhavan by Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar and Health Minister in a meeting of the Punjab State Road Safety Council under the chairmanship of Balbir Singh.

The process of saving lives will get enthusiasm

The minister said that under this scheme, the helpful person will also be given a certificate of ‘good helper’ by the doctor of the hospital or the police. With which he will be able to take this amount through the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Council Chairman Laljit Bhullar said that this scheme will give impetus to the process of saving the lives of people injured in road accidents in time. People will also be excited to help the victim.

Rs 2.56 crore released for making ‘Model Traffic City’

The ‘Traffic Management Plan’ for Amritsar was also approved in the meeting. Under which Rs 2.56 crore will be released to make Amritsar a ‘Model Traffic City’. With this amount, road traffic management including setting up of ‘Road Safety and Accident Response Unit’, purchase of ambulances and recovery vans, and other traffic related works will be done.

The cabinet ministers said that with the implementation of this project, the traffic problem in Amritsar city would be solved. The minister informed that Rs 4 crore has been released under the first phase to the deputy commissioners for ‘District Road Safety Committees’.
