The power utilities of Punjab (PSPCL) and Haryana (DHBVN and UHBVN) have improved, while Chandigarh slipped from grade A to grade B in the 11th National Annual Ranking Report of the Ministry of Power. The Annual Integrated Rating exercise is being carried out since 2012 under the approval and guidance of the Ministry of Power.
The current report covers 71 power distribution utilities across India including 45 state discoms, 14 private discoms and 12 power departments. A total of 10 power utilities out of 51 have got A+ rating this year, including seven state-owned and four private distribution companies. State-owned companies in the A+ category have four from Gujarat, one from Haryana and one from Dadra Nagar Haveli. Three private companies are also in the A+ category Adani and Tata in Mumbai and Noida in Uttar Pradesh. Adani topped the list with a score of 99.6 per cent.
All India Engineers Association spokesperson VK Gupta said on Tuesday that PSPCL has moved from 16th position to 11th position in the ranking with one grade from B grade. Its total marks increased from 62.31 percent to 83.81 percent. In case of PSPCL with higher total subsidy disbursement (105% of subsidy booked), the ACS-ARR gap increased from 0.08 in FY2021 to (-0.18) in FY2022. AT&C losses to improve from 18.5 percent in FY 2021 to 11.7 percent in FY 2022. Mainly improved collection efficiency (improved from 92 per cent to 100 per cent.
