Punjab News: In recognition of their significant contributions to managing stubble without resorting to burning, 50 farmers were honoured as ‘Ambassadors of Environment Protection’ by Derabassi MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa and Mohali Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain.

During the event, MLA Randhawa praised the farmers for their environmentally responsible actions and highlighted the importance of promoting such role models. He urged other farmers to learn from their experiences and adopt simple, cost-effective practices that could lead to debt-free farming and ease the hardships many in the agricultural community face.

The deputy commissioner also expressed gratitude to the farmers, underlining the district’s commitment to supporting sustainable farming and ensuring a cleaner environment. The PPCB, alongside local authorities, continues to play a pivotal role in these efforts, aiming to reduce pollution and foster environmentally-friendly agricultural methods.
