Punjab News: In an alarming incident, the management of Golden Era Millennium School in Mandi Killianwali, Lambi, allegedly attacked a six-member team sent by the District Education Officer (DEO) to investigate complaints regarding the school’s unauthorized operation beyond Grade VIII. The team, led by Kanwalpreet Kaur, principal of Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Mandi Killianwali, visited the institute to verify the allegations.
Private School in Mandi Killianwali Accused of Illegal Operations
According to Kaur, the team discovered that the private school was conducting classes for students in grades IX, X, XI, and XII without proper affiliation. When the team began recording videos, the school manager, Jaskaran Singh, and principal, Deepti Sharma, reportedly assaulted them, even breaking a cellphone in the process. The assaulted team members subsequently filed a complaint with the Lambi police.
Lakhvir Singh, Chief of the Democratic Teachers’ Front (DTF) in Muktsar, called for immediate closure of the allegedly illegal school, advocating legal actions against the management. Singh emphasized the need for alternative arrangements for students enrolled in higher classes.
Rajeev Chhabra, DEO Muktsar, confirmed the unauthorized teaching beyond Class VIII and stated that a complaint had been filed due to the school management obstructing public servants from performing their duties and engaging in misbehavior.
