Punjab News: CM Bhagwant Mann to Deepen Doaba Connect with Weekly Visits to Jalandhar

Punjab News: Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced that he will spend two days each week in Jalandhar, which he now refers to as his “second home.” This commitment comes after the recent bypolls in Jalandhar and aims to strengthen the government’s connection with the people of the Doaba region.

Government at the Doorstep

Chief Minister Mann, along with his Officers on Special Duty (OSDs) and his wife Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, will be present in Jalandhar to maintain close ties with the public. “I have given my word and will ensure that twice a week, the government will run from Jalandhar,” Mann stated. “My new house will always be open for the public. They can come and air their concerns, and I assure them that these will be resolved immediately.”

Mann emphasized that this move would bring the government closer to the people, saving them the trouble of traveling to Chandigarh for their issues. “We are not like the elitist leaders of the opposition,” he said, referring to the previous governments. “People have brought us to power because they feel we are one of them.”

Expressing gratitude towards the voters of Jalandhar West, Mann said, “I thank the voters for stepping out and casting their votes in a peaceful manner. Your valuable votes will contribute to the development of this segment.”

Mann also addressed criticism from political opponents regarding his direct involvement in the campaign. “They were upset that I am directly mingling with the people. They think of themselves as being in a different league than the common man,” he said.

In both Jalandhar and Chandigarh, Mann emphasized his open-door policy. “MLAs, party workers, and the public all come to my residence. I listen to their concerns and then frame policies that will benefit them. No one in the past has framed policy in public interest. Governments in the past had worked only for the rich and famous,” he stated.

Achievements and Future Plans

Mann also highlighted the opening of 23 Mukh Mantri Sahayta Kendras in all districts within 18 days as a significant achievement. “This is a step towards bringing good governance to the doorstep of the common man,” he said.

Mann’s commitment to spending time in Jalandhar, along with his team’s efforts, underscores his administration’s dedication to addressing the concerns of the people and ensuring that government services are accessible to all.
