Punjab News: The Punjab government, headed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is making every effort to support the less fortunate members of society financially. The government is providing support in a number of areas, whether it be through financial aid, job chances, or health benefits. Punjab’s Minister for Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities, Dr. Baljit Kaur, recently announced on social media that 9,268 Scheduled Caste beneficiaries have received payments from the government totalling ₹47.26 crore.
Dr. Baljit Kaur Announces the Aid Distribution
Dr. Baljit Kaur personally conveyed this information through her social media platforms. She stated, “The Punjab government, led by CM Bhagwant Mann, has released ₹47.26 crore to 9,268 beneficiaries from the Scheduled Castes. The payment has been directly transferred into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts. The government is committed to working for the welfare of the Scheduled Castes and economically weaker sections.”
Beneficiaries from Various Districts
Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur also mentioned that the financial benefits for the fiscal years 2023-24 and 2024-25 have been extended to beneficiaries from several districts, including Amritsar, Barnala, Faridkot, Fatehgarh Sahib, Fazilka, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Mansa, Moga, Muktsar Sahib, Patiala, Pathankot, Sangrur, and Malerkotla.
Eligibility Criteria for Availing the Scheme
Dr. Baljit Kaur’s information indicates that in order to qualify for this scheme’s benefits, a person must be a permanent resident of Punjab and should belong to a family below the poverty line. Additionally, the candidate needs to come from a family that is economically weak, such as the Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, or others. Two of the family’s daughters may also benefit from this scheme if the total annual income of all family members is less than ₹3,270.
