Just ahead of the crucial Punjab Nagar Nigam Election, senior Congress leaders Jagdish Raja and Anita Raja joined AAP. The induction, facilitated by CM Bhagwant Mann, signals a major expansion of AAP’s influence in the area.

Expressing faith in CM Bhagwant Mann's leadership, Jagdish Raja, the current Mayor of Jalandhar, and Anita Raja, a sitting councilor, officially aligned with AAP. However, the party narrowly missed the Barnala seat by approximately 2,000 votes.
