Government Compensates Farmers for Flood-Related Crop Damage
Jimpa explained that in 2023, special girdawari orders were issued to all deputy commissioners in the state to assess crop losses due to floods. The assessment process commenced following an order issued on July 24 of the same year. Farmers affected by floods received compensation according to guidelines set by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. The compensation amounted to Rs 6,800 per acre for up to five acres of crop loss.
